This document outlines the Terms of Service and GDPR for working with Laura Newman in her professional capacity as a registered Speech and Language Therapist in the UK.

CONFIDENTIALITY & DISCLOSURE
- All communications between LN and the client/ involved practitioners, including conversations, emails, reports, questionnaires and videos, are kept confidential as per our GDPR (see below).
- It is the client’s responsibility to disclose any relevant information to Laura Newman in a timely manner that would affect her assessment and recommendations. For example, a child being on the school SEN register, feeding / swallowing difficulties, being on the social services register, a child who is self harming or on medications for behaviour.
- In the case of divorced or separated parents, and where the child is under joint parental responsibility, it is required that both parents are aware of the service being provided and both parents provide written consent for this to happen.

Laura Newman complies with the General Data Protection Regulation and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy describes our procedures for ensuring that personal information about children and their families is processed fairly and lawfully.

What data does Laura Newman hold and why?
To provide you with a high standard of care and service, and to comply with professional standards, Laura Newman requires to hold accurate personal information about you and your child, which is collected from you when you book a free call, in our meetings, completing our Confidential Case Form, your video samples and any other assessment questionnaires, and within our written communications.
Where is my data kept and who has access?
Your information is stored electronically on a secure case management system called WriteUpp, of which Laura Newman is the sole administrator. Videos are collected on WhatsApp, moved to a file on our computer and then deleted from WhatsApp. Your data is not be passed to any third parties.
Sharing of Personal Information
Your personal information is only shared with other professionals when you have given written or verbal consent for this to happen and will be copied to you in email correspondence.
LN works with an Educational Psychologist and may share your information in confidence with that person during our team meetings.
LN trains professionals in the LEAD approach and may share aspects of your case anonymously for training purposes.
LN receives supervision as part of her professional requirements and to maintain a high quality of service; your information may be shared anonymously for this purpose.
In exceptional circumstances where there may be a safe-guarding issue, LN is professionally bound to report concerns to the relevant authorities; in this case clients will be notified of such actions at the time.

Your data is collected as part of our contract to provide you with a high quality service and your consent for your data to be used specifically by Laura Newman. You have the following right:
